A timeline through Hershey's History
- 1894: founded by Milton S. Hershey in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Milton grew up in rural central Pennsylvania. He didn't have a formal education and ended up bankrupt when he was 30.
- 1900: The Hershey company started producing chocolate bars and wafers.
- 1905: producing chocolate out of the factory they just built.
- 1907: Hershey's Kisses! (wrapped by hand)
- 1921: Machine wrapping was introduced.
- 1924: The plumes on top of the kisses were trademarked for the Hershey's Kisses.
- 1925: Mr. Goodbar!
- 1926: Hershey's chocolate syrup!
- 1928: Chocolate chips!
- 1938: Krackel Bar!
- 1956: H.B. Reese dies and seven years later, the company was sold to Hershey, his good friend.
